Fight Speeding Ticket Errors

The truth is, as much as we've all come to rely so heavily on technology, sometimes the weaknesses of some innovations hurts as much as helps us. This is often the case with radar or laser speed detection and red light camera tickets. If you have been cited for excessive speed or a red light violation that you believe to be the result of an error, or not, you can fight speeding ticket and red-light citations by knowing a little bit about the devices used to measure the infraction.

Radar/laser speed detectors and red-light cameras can be highly accurate under ideal conditions; however, there are many conditions that can render the detector inaccurate:

  • The volume of other vehicles on the road
  • Interference from nearby objects
  • Distance of more than 1,500 feet between patrol vehicle/camera and targeted vehicle
  • Inclement weather, such as rain or heavy snow
  • Improper/infrequent calibration and internal/external testing
  • Improper sight alignment
  • Movement of the radar

Special circumstances such as the presence of emergency vehicles and construction zones

The team at the Law Offices of Amir Soleimanian & Associates has witnessed and fought thousands of citations, and has amassed a great deal of knowledge and insight about the accuracy of radar gun and camera tickets, acquiring new angles with which to fight traffic ticket charges.

Fight Traffic Ticket Repercussions

Long gone are the days when a motorist could rip up an out-of-state citation and expect it to go away once they returned home. These days, thanks to something called the National Driver's License Compact, a person's best bet is to fight traffic ticket repercussions rather than ignore them.

The state of California is one of 45 member states in the NDLC. What this means is that information about moving violation citations a driver receives in a member state is shared with all other member states. A citation that is received and subsequently disregarded is then handled according to the traffic laws in that individual's state of residence.

Since tickets can no longer be disregarded with impunity, an individual who has received a moving violation must now fight speeding ticket, reckless driving, DUI and other moving violation citations they received away from home, just as they would if they had gotten the citation locally.
